Nathan at 3 Years Old

Refers to himself as Na-na while most everyone else calls him Nathan (and every so often, Nate)

Still loves his boppy! (i.e. his pacifier)... not sure how we're going to break him of it; we have a lot less resolve then we did with Gianna:/

Loves to play with his sisters and his cousins
Is buddies with Kolbe and Casey
Often plays "Mommy and Baby" with Ella

Likes playing the game, Don't Break the Ice

Loves trucks and making food in the play kitchen

Still needs a nap during the day and usually naps for about 1 1/2 hr- 2 hrs
Sleeps well at night, but by morning, he can almost always be found sleeping in mom and dad's bed

Knows how to nurse and injury.
After getting a small cut on one of his fingers, he refused to fully open his hand for about a month.  He did as much as he could with one hand and used a pincher grasp when he had to use his other one. Finally, after a lot of failed attempts, and many days with a sweaty palm and pruney fingers, he got use to using his hand again. Whew!

Needs a napkin when he's eating anything remotely messy.
If you forget to give him one, he will call out, "napkin alert, napkin alert!"

Is getting better at trying new foods

Loves pop! Especially Grandpa T.'s "sparkly water"

His favorite show is Curious George

Likes to wear his pajamas all day when I let him

Can also have a strong opinion about what he does, or more specifically, does NOT want to wear.
(It can be a real wrestling match some days:/)

Is not potty trained yet
However, chasing him down to change his diaper is getting really old, really fast.
(I should probably increase my resolve for this as well!)

Likes to be a construction worker and dress up like a fireman and a police officer.

He told me he wants to be a police officer, "not for pretend, for real."

His "s" is often pronounced as a "d"
For example, "store" sounds like "door"
or it is dropped all together
For example "sleep" sounds like "leap"

Some of his common phrases are:
"What the heck? I can't believe it!"
"I'm just being a trickster."
"You goof nutty!"

If you can't quite understand him, and have to say "what?" a few too many times, he'll just resolve to saying, "nothing," with a slight sigh;)

Once, in conversation, I said to him, "Thanks, Bud!"
He replied by saying, "Mom, I'm not a bud, I'm a genius like Nature Cat."

Likes hotels;)

Likes watching YouTube nursery rhymes and especially likes the song,
"Take Me Out to the Ballgame!"

Has brought so much JOY to our lives over these past 3 years.
We simply can't imagine life without him!

WE LOVE YOU, BUDDY!!
