We Have An Accepted Offer and an Apartment!!

In less than a week, we went from having no offer on our house and no apartment in Winona to having both!

How fast and, potentially, how well it has all come together is crazy-- and we have the prayers of St. Joseph to thank for it!!

Some good friends of ours, who were also trying to sell their house, told us about a 31 Day Novena to St. Joseph that contained prayers with reflections and meditations on his life.  Since we were already seeking the intercession of St. Joseph for the sale of our house, we thought this novena would be a great addition.

...As part of the prayer said, "'To the other saints, God gives the grace to help us in certain particular needs, but to St. Joseph, He gives power to help us in all our needs.'"

To give you an idea of how everything kind of fell into place, I will try and recap last week:

Monday (April 23):
-To date, we had about 14 showings on our house that had produced ZERO offers.
-There were no upcoming showings scheduled, no offers, and (after about 2 1/2 months of looking) there were also no leads on any apartments in Winona.
Tuesday (April 24):
-Our realtor asked us if we wanted to do an open house on Saturday and reduce the price on our house again-- something we had done many times before. We agreed to both.
-I decide I would try and call on some apartments that Andy had already called on twice, with no success.  (Previously, no one answered when he called, and no one returned his messages.)
-I called, the owner answered, and he told me he had one apartment opening up June 1st (one out of about 30+ apartments, mind you). I scheduled an apartment showing for Thursday.
Wednesday (April 25):
- We finished our 31 Day Novena to St. Joseph and gained some wonderful insights into this POWERFUL saint.
-We also went up to Chippewa for the day to get some more stuff and to tidy up the yard and house for the open.
Thursday (April 26):
-I was getting ready to take a shower and I thought to myself, "I wonder if we're going to have any showings this weekend?" Quite literally, no sooner did that thought cross my mind, and my cell phone rang. There was a showing request for Friday night.  I gave the ok.
-We went to our apartment showing and liked the apartment. We gave the owner our application.
Friday (April 27):
-Our application got approved for the apartment! Andy scheduled an appointment to sign the lease on Monday.
-The showing took place and later that night, our realtor texted me to tell me he got an offer!!! He told me to sleep well and to trust God.  (The trust God part I could do at the moment, but the sleep well part was a little more difficult;)
-The closing date in the offer was June 8th (That would work well with our lease on the apartment starting June 1st. We would have a good amount of time to move our stuff and not have to worry about where we would put it)
-Both Andy and my first reaction was to take the offer and run with it, but after crunching some numbers we decided we would probably need to make a counter offer.
Saturday (April 28):
-(It was St. Gianna's Feast Day:)
-I talked to our realtor about the offer, and we decided to make a counter offer.
-Later that night,we received showing feedback from the previous night's showing and by list price it stated: Above Market Value.  I started to worry a bit about how open the buyer would be to our counter price.  Keeping in mind, however, we were asking for $5,100 less than what we bought it for 3 1/2 years ago and we had even put on a new roof and new automatic garage doors (gives you an idea of just how the market is right now).
Sunday (April 29):
-My worry from yesterday was subsided, the buyer accepted our counter offer!!
Monday (April 30):
-We signed the lease on an apartment in Winona!
-Now, a week later, we had an accepted offer and an apartment lined up.

Thank you St. Joseph!

Obviously, there are a few more hoops we have to jump through before the sale of our house is final and we are living in Winona, so we will continue to ask the intercession of St. Joseph and trust that if it is God's Will, it will be.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers too and continued prayers would be great as well:)
