Nathan at 8 Years Old

 January 2022

(This post is over a year late;)

Is an ideas man!

Likes to dress up and likes to be just like his dad.

Likes to follow the rules and do the right thing.

At his 2nd grade conferences, his teacher told us he was a hard worker.

Still mostly a morning person, but is more grumpy this year when he has to get up early for school.

Can be known by us as "Captain Intensity" sometimes. (He can get unnecessarily upset when he does something wrong, or if he has to do something he doesn't want to do, like homework!)

One of his common phrases is a slightly sarcastic, "Oh, that's sad."

Involved in Troops of St. George this year and loves to go. He loves seeing his cousins, and he loved going to the shooting range for an outing.

His cousins remain some of his closest friends.

Can get annoyed with Dominic when he becomes his constant shadow.

Greatly enjoyed creating a tour video of the WAAS station to show his class.

Like most kids, he absolutely hates getting shots.

He also hates stickers and getting any type of hand stamp. (It can make his quite distraught until it can be washed off.)  Ash Wednesday is one of his least favorite Masses of the year.  He will often make sure other church Masses or events do not include the distribution of ashes. (We assure him that only happens once a year;)

Even when it's sub-zero temperatures, he will ask almost every night if it's warm enough for a tornado.  The thought of a tornado hitting is one of his greatest fears.

Made his First Reconciliation on Saturday, December 11, 2021. He was a little nervous but not too bad.

Likes Nintendo and Sonic and really wishes he had a Nintendo Switch.  He saved up his money and bought a real controller so he could pretend to play video games with it. Dominic acted as a pretend Sonic for him, and when he wanted his pretend Sonic to have a sleepover with him, he told me Dominic's "Sonic Mom" knew about it and was ok with it.

Tested positive for Covid in late January/ early February of 2022. Thankfully, he barely showed any symptoms and was just happy that now, he didn't have to do his after dinner chore.  He thought getting a smoothie from Caribou, after getting tested, made it the "best day." 😆

Slammed his finger in the side door of the garage, and slowly but surely, he eventually lost his finger nail completely.

Is a great kid with a sensitivity to other peoples feelings.

He continues to show a love of imagination and creative play, and we love him immensely!
