My family appeased (and, overall, seemed to enjoy) my request for a little tea party for my birthday.
(The part the kids didn't really enjoy was driving around looking at red houses for color inspiration in anticipation of some spring home improvements;)
Birthdays in your late 30's look a little different than they do in younger years.
