Merry Christmas

We have been back in the school routine for a few weeks now, but we still look back fondly on the time we had together over Christmas break. The time always goes too fast!

A few highlights of our two weeks include going on a walk in the woods and sledding on Christmas Eve, driving through town looking at outdoor Christmas displays, watching the girls sing for Christmas morning Mass, our Christmas celebrations with our extended family, going ice skating on the levee, going to the movie theater to watch Mary Poppins Returns, and overall, just enjoying some nice quiet days and nights at home, watching shows together and enjoying one another's company.

Cutting down our Christmas tree at Trees R Us, a few weeks before Christmas.

It was a little chilly but, hey, at least there was snow!

Our tree this year was a little top heavy with ornaments as we tried to avoid placing too many within the reach of a little toddler we know;)  He enjoyed looking at the few ornaments he could reach, and taking them off every now and then, but overall, he was much better with the tree than I expected!  It was a good time to take it down when we did, however, as he did eventually find the water and found that quite entertaining;)

Celebrating Christmas with the Luebke family:)
Dominic, Nathan, and I enjoyed a special story time with Santa at Lark Toys
School Christmas concerts and programs!  We attended Nathan's preschool program and spotted him wearing his barn mouse ears; we enjoyed Gianna's first band concert; and closed out the final day of school before break with the annual choral concert. (Sadly, Ella missed the concert for the second year in a row due to sickness... there's always next year, right?!)
Enjoying Christmas Eve in the great outdoors.  We walked a wooded trail close to our house and had a fun time sledding on the icy snow!;) I would love to make this activity a Christmas tradition.
Gianna and Ella set out cookies and milk for Santa the night before, and we woke up early Christmas morning to presents under the tree. (The rubber chicken head that was stuck on our ceiling for weeks on end, decided to finally come down Christmas morning... you can see the little head by the presents in the bottom pictures;)
Nathan's big toy from Santa... a hospital Lego set!
Dominic's big toy from Santa... a play campfire set!
Ella's big toy from Santa... a life-like baby doll named Annabell!
Gianna's big toy from Santa.. a Lego Friends club house set!
The kids were able to enjoy a little playtime before we got ready for Mass.
All ready for Mass!  Both girls sang in the children's choir at St. Stan's Basilica
After Mass, we headed to La Crosse for our Christmas celebration with the Thompson family!
The kids' talent show was one of the highlights of the day:)

Present time!

We continued our Christmas celebration with the Teska family the following Saturday! (I wish I would have gotten a video of the Mexican dog with the maracas... the kids found him quite entertaining;)
Some highlights of the day included enjoying one another's company, opening gifts, and the ever enjoyable, package wrap ball game!

Nothing quite captures Christmas like cousins in pajamas:)
This year for Christmas, Grandma and Grandpa Thompson got the grand kids ice skates!  We were so glad all the cousins got to get together at Winona's levee to break them in;)

Merry Christmas from the Teska's!
