To celebrate her 9th birthday, Gianna opted for a friend birthday party! (She was on the party part of a party, trip rotation I currently have the kids on;)
We decided bowling would be a fun activity and since we live just down the street from a local bowling alley, we had a little bit of the party at the bowling alley and a little bit of the party at the house.
She decided on a Shopkins themed party this year
We served some purple party punch, "Poppy Corn," and a Shopkins cake with some strawberry ice cream (per the birthday girl's request).
Some school friends, a neighborhood friend, and her sister completed the guest attendees;)
It worked out quite well to take a short walk to the bowling alley. We got there right when it opened and were the only ones there the whole time. The girls bowled a game and a half, and then we opted to head back before time ran out for the rest of the party!
Cake and presents!
We ended the party with a little hula-hooping fun.
All in all, she had a fun party day:)
Her actual birthday-day fell on a Monday this year, and it was also the start of Totus Tuus at our parish. She was able to bring a birthday treat to share, and they sang "Happy Birthday" to her.
(Singing one of the many songs they learned throughout the week;)
After enjoying the morning and early afternoon, attending the program with Ella, she came home to a bit of a stormy day.
She opened some cards and presents
and partook in one of her favorite activities... family game time!
The evening was made complete by dinner out with some of her favorite people
and opening some more presents,
which even included a pair of crutches!
(She enjoyed playing with a pair at G&G Teska's and even borrowed them for a week, so they thought she might enjoy her own pair;)
Birthday cake time! (Strawberry shortcake style)... perfect for a June birthday!
Happy Birthday to the oldest cousin in the bunch!:)
