Mid-October we traveled to Illinois to visit with Molly and Ben. It was a very nice trip, highlighted with a visit to the Brookfield Zoo!

All Saint's Day
In connection to All Saints Day, Gianna and I got the unique opportunity to meet the daughter of St. Gianna, Gianna Emanuela, on Nov. 4th when she spoke at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse. She was the daughter St. Gianna was pregnant with when she developed a benign tumor. Although there was hoped to save both the mother and the baby during the pregnancy, St. Gianna passed away shortly after her daughter's birth due to septic peritonitis. Gianna Emanuela talked about her "Saint Mom's" deep faith and trust in God. It was so special for Gianna to meet her!
(Back in 2009, I was able to meet St. Gianna's eldest son, Pierluigi, at the Shrine as well. Now Gianna has a keepsake book with both their signatures in it. Pretty cool:)

We enjoyed our visit with you!! The kids looked great dressed up for Halloween and All Saints Day and how very cool that Gianna got to meet St. Gianna's daughter!
