Gianna at 8 Years Old

Completed 2nd grade at St. Stan's and, overall, loved the school year.

First Day and Last Day of Second Grade!

Can often be heard saying, "peeps" when she is addressing more than one person.

Loves to write stories and enjoys reading Babysitter's Club Little Sister books, Ramona books, and other chapter books as well.
Has grown leaps and bounds in her reading ability this year.

Is responsible and helpful.
Enjoys taking care of Nathan
(I can see her embracing the role of babysitter in the not too distant future;)

and Ella is almost always under her wing.
(A little bit of mothering can be seen in interactions with her throughout the day~ sometimes this is appreciated, other times, not so much;)
Most of the time she never complains about her little sister's company, but every so often she wants to do things by herself.

Wrote all her birthday thank you's completely by herself this year!

Loves playing with her neighborhood friends and school friends, but also enjoys spending time helping mom around the house and running errands

Likes to play house and school, ride her bike, roller blade, color and draw, and do other arts and craft type projects and still LOVES playing board games

She has chosen to take some introductory dance sessions this summer instead of T-ball. She has enjoyed them so far.

Is a pretty good hula hooper!;)

LOVES spending time with her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and her cousins.
If there are plans to see any of them on a given day, her day just got 10 times better;)

Has noticeably matured a little bit more this year.
Is understanding the ups and downs of life a little more deeply and her complete childhood innocence has faded just a tad. Not in a bad way, by any means, but in more of an age appropriate and necessary way.

Is shy in new situations and with new people, but still enjoys such places and faces.
Once she warms up a bit, she has no problem joining in the fun:)

Still does not prefer to go in a room by herself, but has challenged herself to do so, every so often. (This even includes the basement!)

Is a gentle and sweet girl who is GREATLY loved!!

She is a joy.
