Easter 2013

Happy and Blessed Easter from the Teska's!

Easter Activities for the Girls

Since Andy had to work all weekend, we decided to go to the 8pm Easter Vigil, as a family, at our local parish.  2 hours and 40 minutes later, we successfully attended the mass with two little girls! Andy did not get called into work, and Gianna fell asleep about 20 minutes in and didn't move a muscle until we woke her up to leave.  And since Ella had a late nap, and likes to be held most of the time anyway, she stayed awake the whole time and actually did really well.  At the end of mass, she was even dancing to the recessional hymn-- which was really quite cute and fitting since we were joyously celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord!

A little Easter Day breakfast with Daddy before he left for work
(notice the crown of thorns now represents new life as a bird's nest with eggs)

Wearing their Sunday best!

Easter at Grandma Kitty's house

Finding Easter baskets at Grandma Kitty's
(It was the first time the girls had to search for their baskets in the basement instead of outside- we haven't done that in years!)

Marissa was the big egg hunt winner this year!  She persevered and kept hunting until she finally smelled;) success in a jar of marbles!
(Let's just say, the muddy grass may have been better than what 4 people stepped in while searching for baskets in the basement;)

Weston:  "Mommy, what's that smell?!"
Maria:  "I don't know Weston, it's probably dinner."
SQUISH
(foot lands in a pile of dog poop)
Maria: "Or not."
(Vance's face in the bottom left corner gives you a clue to how smelly it got!)

Celebrating Aunt Lisa's birthday! (Her birthday was April 1st)

Mom consulting the egg hunt list to see if all were found!

Snazzy new glasses:)

Reading glasses just like grandma's and more Easter treats!

Annual egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Teska's
(first time we had to do the egg hunt inside here, too)
Gianna was very gracious to her little sister and made sure she found just as many eggs as she did.  A few she found, she wouldn't even pick up because she wanted Ella to find them-- so sweet!

Opening up all their eggs to see all their little treasures!

Gianna found her Easter basket at Grandma and Grandpa Thompson!
(Weston gave her a very good clue-- i.e. pretty much pointed it out to her;)

And Ella's sweet success!

It was her 3rd Easter, and she was technically only 1 year old!
(1 year, 11 months, and 21 days to be exact;)

  1. What a fun and busy Easter you had! How awesome that you got to attend the Easter Vigil as a family and the girls were such troopers. I absolutely LOVE the first pic of the girls looking at each other and looking so joyful-- hopefully many more memories of sisterly love to enjoy!
