Ella at 7 Months

 

Often times, can be seen with her hands in motion!  Loves to wave her hands and watch her fingers open and close.

 Has gone through a little "sleep training."  Andy and I knew we had to do something when we realized she was sleeping longer, and better, when she was a younger baby than she was now.  It was quite clear that we had been the "culprits" in this whole sleep situation, and we needed her to remember how well she could put herself back to sleep.  Since Andy had more resolve than I did, he stayed with her the first night we decided to let her cry it out a bit (about 45 minutes), and she is doing a much better job of putting herself back to sleep with her thumb and by rolling onto her tummy instead of depending upon mom all the time.

Usually takes two naps a day (every so often needs a third one) and sleeps about 10-12 hours at night.  Longest stretch is about 6 to 7 hours between feedings.

Has had her first little hair trimming.  She basically had three little sections of hair straggles in the back of her head (with one starting to resemble a rat's tail), so we decided a little trim was necessary. With a few snips of the scissors, she now has an even hair line in the back.

Is rather a soft talker, but does have some loud sounds she makes as well.  Her most famous sound is her grunt.  She uses it when she's tired, to put herself back to sleep, to voice her discontent with something, to fill her diaper, and sometimes, just because.

She started eating well at about 6 1/2 months and now thoroughly enjoys eating with everyone else at breakfast, lunch, and dinner time.  Prefers finger food and table food over baby food.
