June 2021

Deke Slayton Airfest
We watched the Blue Angels perform near the La Crosse airport

Summer Garden
The kids each took a section of our garden space to grow a few of their favorite things.  There were peas, carrots, peppers, cucumbers, dill, tomatoes, strawberries, potatoes, jack be little pumpkins, and flowers.

Baby Ducks
A mother duck and her babies accidently wandered into our garage, and when we went to check it out, we accidently scared the mother duck away.  Not knowing exactly what to do, quite comically, Andy gathered up the scared little ducks in a box. We gave them a little water and hoped the mother duck would come back for them.  Dusk was starting to set in before we finally saw their mother return.  This time, we made sure not to scare her away before she safely had them back in her care.  After all was said and done, we learned we should have just stayed out of the garage and let the mother duck guide them back out on her own. Lesson learned!

Boating and Fishing
Andy took each of the kids out on the boat for some one on one fishing time. We also took a ride, out on the river, to wade in the water and explore the shore.

Cousin Fun
Pool time, birthday fun, and wacky costumes

Tony Melendez Concert at the Crossing Center
An inspirational singer and song writer, who was born without arms, and masterfully plays the guitar with his feet. Ella didn't wanted to get up and dance, so Andy lifted her chair to dance with her. She couldn't stop laughing and neither could we!

Steamboat Days and Father's Day

The boys found great fun in their first memorable carnival experience, and the girls enjoyed being old enough to explore the rides and games on their own.  When the boys and I walked over to the big rides, to see what the girls were doing, Ella gave Gianna a look that let me know mom was not a welcome sight for their newly found independence. 😆

For Father's Day, the kids enjoyed giving their cards and gifts to dad before heading to the Steamboat Days parade.

Gianna marched in the Cotter JH marching band and Ella and Nathan rode in the ambulance for the parade.  Dominic and I enjoyed gathering with grandparents and friends to watch!

Our summer days were off to a good start!
