Andy's 30th Birthday and our 5th Wedding Anniversary!
Andy had to work on his real birthday so the girls and I brought lunch to eat with him; he didn't have any calls while we were there, so we were able to spend a nice amount of time with him. The girls even got to eat some of the bike cake his co-workers bought for him:)
On Friday, we celebrated with a cake at home complete with 30 candles!
The rest of the weekend, we planned for a little bit of relaxation, and time for just the two of us, to help ring in our 5th anniversary. The girls spent Friday with the LaVoys and then went to G&G Teska's for the rest of the weekend. Friday night was the first official night Ella spent in the care of someone other than mom or dad, and according to Maria and Mike, all went well:) I think it's pretty safe to say, they barely missed us and were well taken care of. Gianna even got to go to Sesame Street Live with Grandma Teska!
As for the two of us, we started out our weekend with a bang by purchasing a new car! Some time towards the beginning of the summer, Andy was rounding a bend on his way to work and crossed over some railroad tracks. As he crossed the tracks, the axle on one of the front wheels of the Escort completely broke apart. Luckily, he was able to retain control of the car and was able to coax the car into the parking lot at work. Needless to say, the 1995 Ford Escort had met its end with us. For most of the summer, Andy rode his bike to and from work, while we kept an eye on the car market. Since we had some time on Friday, we decided to drive through a few car lots to see what we could find. What we found was, a 2002 Ford Focus.

The rest of our weekend together wasn't nearly as expensive and was highlighted by: a delicious "off the schedule" 10pm dinner on Friday night (something you can't do with little kids;), a trip to the Farmer's Market, a five mile walk around the Winona Lake, dinner at my grandma's to co-celebrate our anniversary with my uncle and aunt's, watching Part 1 of The Lord of the Rings (our plan was to watch all three-- ha!), and some driving around Winona to get a feel for some of the city's neighborhoods (for future home buying purposes). All in all it was a very relaxing weekend, and we enjoyed our time together:)
The weekend came to a close on Sunday night, with one final hurrah for Andy's birthday. We met up with some extended family for a nice dinner out.
