Andy's parents have graciously allowed us to stay with them for a few months until we, hopefully, get an offer on our house and sell it. (St. Joseph, please pray for us!:) They've been very welcoming and accommodating, and we really appreciate having a place to stay that is close enough for Andy to come home after his orientation shifts.
Andy officially started his new job in Winona on February 20th; it's hard to believe he has already been there close to three weeks. He is currently in orientation and works 12 hour shifts without any call time. So far, he has adjusted pretty well to his new job; he says the people he works with all seem very nice, and he has stayed busy enough to make the time go by quickly. It goes without saying, as with any new job, it will take some time to adjust; he does miss the camaraderie he had with some of the guys he worked with in Chippewa. Overall, he is looking forward to what's to come with his new job.
While it is a bit hard to be in a state of transition while we wait for our house to sell so we can fully settle into our new city, we are already enjoying the time we've had to spend with our families. For example, we were glad we could help celebrate 3 birthdays this past week!
We enjoyed a dinner out for Grandma Thompson's birthday last Friday
And also enjoyed an afternoon at Shenanigan's for Vance and Grandpa Thompson's birthday this past Wednesday.
The kids all enjoyed their first bowling experience
Of course he wanted to run and get his ball back;)
The look of concentration;)
He just couldn't "stand" the excitement;)
Ella enjoyed helping mom bowl
Grandpa and Grandson- aka "The Birthday Boys" shooting some hoops together
(I don't think any of them actually had the strength to get the ski-balls up into the holes;)
All tired out after a night of birthday fun:)
Andy and I hope to scope out some apartments in Winona these coming weeks, and we hope the spring like weather is here to stay; did I mention we would really love to sell our house?;).
