Ella at 5 Months

Hair is growing in light and seems to have a red tone- a strawberry blonde perhaps?

Wants to touch everything she can get her hands on and put anything and everything in her mouth.

Is officially a thumb sucker-- still uses her middle two fingers, but now, more often than not, she uses her thumb.

Is clearly frustrated that she can't move more than she can.  Seems highly motivated to try and can get a little feisty when she can't quite do what she wants to;)

Is a lot better in her car seat.  For the most part, car rides are no longer an unusual form of torture. (For her and us!)

Now likes stroller rides too (as long as the stroller is moving;)

Is an observer-- she likes to face out when she's being held and intently views the world around her.

Overall, is a pretty good sleeper- does at least one good 7 hour stretch between feedings and usually settles right back to sleep after eating a little. Prefers to roll over and sleep on her tummy.

Takes 2 to 3 naps a day (either in her crib or the swing). Length can vary depending upon the day.

Loves to watch her big sister, with a little distance; she can be a bit overwhelming when she gets too close;)

Is on the verge of sitting (can do pretty good supported by the boppy)

Has discovered her toes

Has some "firsts" accomplished:

1st Time at the Beach

1st Parade

1st Taste of Cereal (8/30/11) and 1st Taste of Bananas!

Can't say she was the biggest fan of either;)

Has also had her first cold.

Prefers to be held

Gives kisses (ok, really, she just likes to suck on your face, but it's fun to think they're kisses;)

Has one of the best baby smiles in the world:)
