Fair, Friends, and a First!

Fair

Last week we headed to the Northern Wisconsin State Fair for the 4th year in a row.  Gianna was so excited to go, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening.  The weather was beautiful!  We started out by going to see the animals and let's just say, we are not raising a farm girl!  Our first stop was the horses.  Andy warned me when one horse was going to walk right by us, as it was being led back into it's stall, but I didn't warn Gianna-- she jumped a foot in her stroller when it walked by her.  After the horses, we took her to see the pigs and sheep, she turned and hid her face in the stroller for most of the walk through that barn.  After that we asked if she wanted to see the cows, she said "No!"  Although it gave Andy and me a good laugh, we decided we wouldn't torture her any more and moved on.

She enjoyed the rides much better-- this was the first year she was tall enough to ride some:)

Ella's first year at the fair!

Friends

This past weekend we headed to La Crosse to get together with some good friends!  We all enjoyed each other's company and had fun watching the kids interact with each other too. The dads graciously watched a majority of the kids so the mommies could go to some rummage sales-- something all three of us love to do!  We started out by hitting quite a few "duds" but then were able to redeem ourselves by going to the clothing and book sales at the library.  The time really did come and go so quickly, and we will definitely have to get together again sometime!

A First

At three years old, Gianna got her first haircut!  The baby curls are gone! Prior to this, I had only trimmed her bangs once, when she was probably about 1 1/2 years old.  Her hair is thin and was getting pretty scraggly- if it wasn't pulled back in a ponytail, it really didn't do much.  It was also two-toned from the baby hair she still had and the color the rest of her hair was growing in as.  Overall, it just needed a good cut!  So we did it!  We actually tried to get her haircut this past spring, but she freaked out and didn't want it done.  Now, a few months later, she was really excited and did a great job.

Here are a few pictures of her new cut-- so far she seems to have a little bit of a different look everyday.  Her hair has some wave to it and seems to do a little something different each day.

Right after she got it cut (I haven't been able to get it to lay like this since)

A day later

It can look a little wild depending on what she's doing in a given day;)

I like it, but I'm not sure I will cut her hair this short again-- we'll see:)
